Inspiron N7010 will not POST

First off, I would like to take a moment to thank anyone and everyone for whatever help I might be able to acquire with my particular issue.

Now then, I have a Dell Inspiron N7010 that simply refuses to POST. When I power it on, the initial splash screen appears, and the progress bar reaches about 60% before it stalls. Pressing F2 or F12 highlight the option in the lower right corner to indicate that the input has been received, but neither command is ever executed. The single beep as normally heard after a successful POST remains M.I.A.

The event that precipitated this issue was a failed attempt to recover from a sleep state, which lead to a B.S.O.D.

My attempts so far:

1) Re-seated everything

2) Tried a different HDD and RAM

3)Removed, and eventually replaced, CMOS battery to clear any potential issues there

4)Pleaded to a higher power

5)Posted here

The B.S.O.D. and failure to POST indicates a serious hardware issue to me, I just don't even know where to go from here.

Hi Symphonized,

I appreciate for all the trouble shooting steps tried to isolate the issue.  I recommend you to run diagnostics on the computer. Shut the system down, press and hold the Fn key on the keyboard and power on the computer. This will launch and run diagnostics which may take around 5 minutes. Also refer to this link:

Please reply to this post in case of any error message.

Thank you for your quick reply Sujatha!

When I attempt to boot and launch the diagnostics via the methods you instructed, I am still met with the initial splash screen and a progress bar reaching about 75% (I was incorrect when I said 60% above). Pressing and holding the Fn and power keys seems to yield no additional results currently than just the power key by itself.

Trying the F12 method in the link highlights the option in the lower right corner of the screen, but still indicates no command actually being executed; as the screen is still stuck on the splash screen with a 75% completed progress bar.

Hi Symphonized,

Shut the system down, remove the battery, Press and hold the power button and connect the Ac adapter and check if the diagnostics gets launched. Reply with the findings.

Try this after releasing residual power. To release it shut the system down, remove the battery and disconnect the ac adapter, press and hold the power button for 20 to 30 seconds.  Now connect only the ac adapter and wait for 30 seconds and turn on the system. This will drain any residual charge in the capacitors.
