Keyboard is not responding to Alt Gr2?
Hey,..
I have a problem to use the @ symbol. I've tried both the alt gr 2 and the ctrl alt 2 combinations, but none of them work. Strange thing is that all the keys work just fine when i try other combinations. such as crtl alt, 3 , 4 . I've tried to log on my computer with a Guest account, and then the ctrl alt 2 combination worked just fine..
i'm running xp on a inspiron 9300 with norwegian keyboard.
Can anybody help, please?

Hi
I am facing the same "@"-problem with my Inspiron9300, using the "German-Schweiz"-keyboard setting.
However, when changing to the "German-German"-keyboard, the key combination "Alt Gr + Q" (= standard) will produce the "@".
Apart from the above: Neither of the two keyboard-settings the ASCI-Codes are functioning (e.g. "Alt + 64" for the symbol "@") !!!

I don't know why, but disabling nwiz.exe in msconfig.exe/startup, solved the Alt Gr 2 issue for me...

@ miz_miz
I had become somewhat frustrated since two separate tries with Dell-Supportline have been without success! The first one per e-mail resulting in the answer that I should use the ASCI-code instead. Rather a poor advice for one of the Dell's top notebooks. The second one on the phone where I got the recommendation to completely erase the harddisk and re-instalIation of XP (using F11 at start-up).
Therefore, I immediately followed your hint and - blame me! - it really works as well with me! I just don't know what are the consequences of preventing nwiz.exe to start up!?!
And the ASCI-codes can still not be produced. (???)
Anywhy, thanks a lot for your valuable advice. You made my day!
