Latitude D610

Hi,

Can you help me with some information about Dell D610 notebook?

I recently purchased D610 Notebook and the battery backup is only 1 hour 30 minutes if I also charged it full 100%.

So, can you give some references or if you know about this issue please let me know the details:

The battery code is 32Whr (what does 32Whr mean and why Dell do not mention the time of backup battery information) anyway

I am waiting for your help.

Thank you.

1)4-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery (32WHr) will last about 2 Hours,

2)8-cell Lithium Ion Additional Battery (65 WHr) will last about 4 Hours.

3)In Windows, go to Control Panel/Power Options/Advanced,

you can enable the icon for the Laptop Power status on your Windows Taskbar so that you have an idea of how much power is left when your laptop is running on battery only.

From which country will you be ordering the extra battery?

The following is a link for DELL US website :

<ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed / replaced from this post by Dell>

Please take note that the maximum power DELL can offer is a 6 CELL Battery, 53Whr for your D610

So friend, as i purchased Latitude D610; 1 month back along with 4-Cell battery.

So can I fix, 6-cell battery in the same D610; because as I saw on www.dell.com that the structure of 4-cell battery is different from 6-cell battery.

You mean the link that I had posted earlier is not what you need?
The link that you have posted gets me to DELL main page only.
You have to dig deeper to show me what is the difference that you saw?

I have a D610 and using RightMark's CPU Clock utility got me just over an extra 30 minutes on battery.  I got the 1.73Ghz CPU down from the factory default of 1.33v to 1.0v and the extra power savings really adds up.  Your CPU may not go quite that low but every little bit helps.

One more question: what is the significance of the different voltages of the batteries: the 4-cell indicates 14.8 V while the 6-cell says, 11.1 V ??!!

Thanks,

mark

Thanks for the response!  Yes, I do know that  P=IV :smileyhappy:, but I was worried about how the d610 could handle the different voltages, which I guess I omitted from my first post.  Oops!  Thanks for your words!

Watts = Volts * Amps.

If you don't know electricity, the simple answer is that watts (Batteries list "watt hours") is the important spec and is an easy way to tell how long one batery will last compared to another.  The power regulator inside the computer deals with changes in amps and volts as long as the manufacturer says the battery is compatible.
