Latitude D630 "Biometric Coprocessor" Driver Missing

Hello Everyone,

I've had the chance to work with some D630s lately on Various windows Vista 32-bit Systems, on some of the laptops, I have encountered this missing driver called "Biometric Coprocessor", can anyone tell me what this device is, which driver it needs(I have dell CDs with many drivers, I might have it) and what is the importance of installing it?

That sounds like the fingerprint reader. You can download the driver from http://support.dell.com. If you want to use the fingerprint reader, you need to have that and the software installed.

It is not on their site and it doesnt acknowledge R154000 as existing anywhere I can find.  Can you send it to me?  <ADMIN NOTE: Email id removed per privacy policy>

The Correct driver is R173506.exe.

I just installed this on a D620 and it works fine!

I could use that drive if you still have it R154000, biometric finger scanner.

same here, I tried to get drivers for my d630, and almost half of them don't work...so if someone has them, and could shoot this one my way, that would be awesome.

Need to mention the following below:

By the way if some of your files from Dell don't show, Get someone who runs Linux to bring up the site to download the files you don't see or try the website given other than Dell one and see if their files will work!

I successfully installed today on my Dell D620 latitude laptop.  Use the following links instructions:

wave.com/support/installation-instructions#223

you can download the tpm,
Broadcom Trusted Platform Module Driver  from  Dell support  Site version 2.0.0.11 as well as
Wave Systems Corp EMBASSY Trust Suite Application version  3.3.0.26 there too but use the following site to download  your
UPEK TouchStrip Reader  version  1.9.2.74, A02

downloadlaptopdrivers.net/2013/08/dell-latitude-d630-windows-xp-drivers.html

put your www. in front of these links for to work and go to sites!

here is Dell's site to get the first two drivers:

dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/product/latitude-d620/drivers

This should help you to get your biometric working but if you are not computer savy, you may have to check tutorials on how to setup security wizard!   One step is you do have to have a passworded windows account on your laptop!  What i mean you cant just boot into the windows on your laptop just by punching the on off switch!  This with replacing the unit that has the biometric on it took me at least 8 hours of disassembly plus trial and error to get this working! May God bless you all!
