Latitude E5440 audio problem

Hi!

I've been struggling with audio problem for a while which I noticed one day.

There's no sound coming from internal speakers or even when connecting headphones.

I reinstalled soundcard drivers several times but nothing changed.

Even tried system recovery but even that didn't help.

Also I ran Dell's system test (tested sound card) but didn't hear any sound either.

Sorry for my bad english, hope you understood me.

Hello. If you performed a full system recovery and tested the audio immediately afterward with no luck, then that is a confirmed hardware failure.

Because you do not get audio from either the speakers or headphones, the failure is most likely on the motherboard and it would need replacing, or you can use a usb audio jack or other audio device as a workaround. Usb audio is independent of the audio system on the motherboard.
