Logtech V20 with Soundbaster mixer, speaker settings etc.

I just installed some logitech V20s, and I cannot get the Soundblsater on screen mixer to work.  The mixer works with the on board speakers and sub woofer in my E1705.

Am I missing a setting somewhere?  I can't imagine that the Logitech V20s are not supported?

Getting frustrated!!

Norm,

These are usb speakers? Go to (in XP) Audio Properties (right click on the volume icon on the taskbar and click 'adjust audio properties', or go through the Control Panel/Sounds & Audio Devices Properties). Select the Audio tab. There will be dropdown boxes under 'sound playback' 'sound recording' and 'midi music'. Each box will list the drivers of the devices that are installed on your computer. You select the one you want to use and that effectively deselects the others. In 'Sound Playback' select your speakers. If your speakers don't have a driver then they should be listed generically like 'usb device' or something.

Yep, USB speakers, and I have made / changed settings in the control panel Sounds and Audio devices.   Most are pre- set for you when you install the V20 drivers.    I have checked and double checked.

It is very odd. The sliders and buttons work fine in the Surround Mixer, but they have no effect on the speakers.

I can't figure it out.   Speakers work fine, and I can adjust the volume using the computer on screen volume control or the key board control.

If I pull the USB speaker plug, the speakers revert to the on board speakers and the Surround Mixer works just fine.

Stumped!!
