MS Internet Explorer 9 flips to compatibility view - even on this forum page.

I am so frustrated.  I was an Alienware fan, but I've about had it.

After three re-installs.  New problems keep cropping up.

I know the MSIE9 problem is only on this Laptop - because I've checked on other PCs, Laptops.  Firefox works fine.  Chrome works fine.

Any idea what would cause MSIE9 to flip into compatibility view?

Hi USEYOURHEAD,

Welcome to the Dell Community.

I understand that Internet Explorer 9 flips to Compatibility View  and you would not like to use Compatibility view. Kindly  try these steps and let me know of the outcome

Step 1:-Click on Compatibility View Settings: You can change these settings from ‘Tools -> Compatibility view settings’ from the IE menu. The menu is now sneakily hidden, so you won't see it until you press Alt.

Through Compatibility View Settings

1. Click on the Tools Menu Bar (ALT+T) item. (See screenshot below)

A) Go to step 3.

OR

2. Click on the Tools Command Bar button. (See screenshot below)

3. Click on Compatibility view settings (See Screenshots above)

4. To Add a Webpage to the Compatibility View List

A) Type in the webpage address that you want to turn on Compatibility View for, and click on the Add button. (See screenshot below)

B) Go to step 6.

5. To Remove a Webpage from the Compatibility View List

A) Select a listed webpage address that you want to turn off Compatibility View for, and click on the Remove button. (See screenshot below)

6. Click on the Close button. (See screenshots above)

Kindly try these steps and revert for further queries

Glad to be of assistance

Thanks,

Manpreet
