N5110 How to Boot from 2nd HDD?
Hey everyone,
I have a N5110 Inspiron (i7 model, a10 bios, hm67 chipset). I changed my hdd with a ssd successfully. I bought a caddy for the hdd and took out the dvd drive and installed the hdd with the caddy w/o any problem.
Now I have 2 hdd's installed without any problem.
Here's the question: I cannot boot from the 2nd hdd which is installed in caddy (where dvd supposed to be). I tried everythig from the bios, set the boot priority to DVD but no use. It alwasy boots from ssd.
Isn't there any way to boot from dvd sata port (where my hdd is installed) ?

That would be a question for the manufacturer of the caddy - in most cases, these are just bridge devices -- you can't boot from a hard or SSD mounted in one of them.

well I can boot from the hdd in the caddy with a work around. Actually, mac os mountain lion (hackintosh) is installed on the hdd. I plug a bootloader-installed usb stick and choose the hdd in caddy to boot. Then it boots without any problem.
What I want is to set the hdd to have the priority to boot without any need of a usb stick. I guess it's not possible.
