im in a similar situation, i also got nmi parity check/ memory parity error, but on mine, the screen is slowly dimming down.. its not OS-dependant, its the same dim screen while booting, ive got a M90, dual-boot, win 7 and ubuntu 13.04, and from power on, its dim, and grows more dim incrementally every 20 minutes or so. ive had it off since last night, and will power it back up tonight when i get home. I will also try the f12 diagnostics when i get home.
Nothing happens. I get no picture. No bootup, no notification, no logo, no loading bar, no splash page. Nothing. The screen is on, but no picture shows up. It's like the boot process isn't there. I can't do anything. I tried changing the motherboard battery, but that didn't do anything but cause two beeps on startup. And only on that startup, not on subsequent startups. Here's what happens: I press the power button, the screen lights up black and stays black. the Hard drive light flickers from time to time, but I don't hear it spinning. The fan doesn't spin up either. I can't tell if the 'F*' keys do anything because nothing happens when I press them. The only keys that I get any response from are the lock keys (caps lock, num lock, etc.). The light for each toggles when I press them.
I have an Inspiron E1505. I think the video hardware is integrated into the board. If I can't fix this, I am really out of luck. Can it be the memory at all? I can maybe replace that.

It would help to know what model system you have, but it's very likely a bad video chip or card.

If you have Intel video, it's integrated -- if it's nVidia or ATI, it's on a separate card.
This is not a memory error - it's video issue.
