Hello Ariepen2,

In order to assist you, please help me understand the following details:

  • What is the status of the power LED?
  • If is it on, what is the color?
  • Since when are you facing the issue?
  • Were there any recent hardware or software changes made on the computer?
  • What is the status of the "keyboard status LEDs" (For example: On-Flashing-On)?

Please write back with the details.

Thank you for replying!

The power LED light is a solid green color.

the issue started about three hours ago. I used my computer September 20 without any problems!

I have not made any changes to my computer recently. I used my printer for the first time in a long while on September 20. But besides that, none.

Now the blue battery light on the LED keyboard  is not blinking on the side of my computer when plugged in with the power source! When I press the power button the blue power symbol light turns on and the blue bluetooth symbol then the computer beeps, then all lights are off.

It is not the power source as I have used a different power cord.

Hello Ariepen2,

Thank you for replying. In order to assist you further, I would request you to try the following steps:

  • Try powering on the computer only with the battery connected.
  • Try powering on the computer only with the AC Adapter connected.
  • Since the LED on the AC Adapter is lit, check if the LED goes off after connecting the AC Adapter to computer.
  • Try a know good AC Adapter if available.

Please write back with your findings.

  • Try a know good AC Adapter if available.....the AC adapter is good as it charges a different DELL computer

now when the AC adapter is plugged in the computer, the LED light on the computer is blinking blue.

Hello Ariepen2,

In that case, please try the following steps:

  • Remove all the memory modules from the computer and check if any beeps are heard.
  • If you hear the beeps, it means that the motherboard is working fine.
  • Then try only one memory stick at one time, in each slot. Example: Take one memory stick, insert it into the first slot, and check if the computer boots to windows. Then try the same memory stick in second slot and follow the same pattern until you test all the memory in all slots.
  • This would tell us if the issue is with mother board or memory.

Before performing the steps, read and follow the safety instructions in Dell Knowledge Base Article: "Precautionary Measures for Personal Safety". Remove all power sources including AC Adapter and Battery before you remove or re-install an item in your computer. For instructions on how to remove and replace the Memory Modules, please see the Service Manual: http://bit.ly/1b4aIgT

Please write back with results, would be glad to assist further.
