Pixel Shader capabilities
Hi,
I have a Dell Inspiron 510 m with Windows XP Home Edition 2002 Version ans Service Pack 2. My video card is a Intel(R) 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller 64Mb and I have also installed DirectW 9.0c. I've been trying to run Star Wars Republic Commando and it fails because I don't have Pixel Shader 1.1. Is there any new driver available with this feature? Is this video card supporting this feature? Any solution?
Thanks a lot.

I have a similar issue. Except, my laptop is an Inspiron 640m with a Mobile Intel(R) 945GM Express Chipset Family graphics card. Also, the game I am trying to install is Company of Heroes: Gold Edition. The thing is, multiple sources from Dell told me different things. One told me I need to update my driver and another told me to actually downgrade the driver. Someone told me to fiddle with resolution or other properties. Someone told me I could buy a compatible video card and connect through USB. Someone else said I could fiddle with the game options to "uncheck" the Pixel Shader requirement for my video card (the only test that failed which prevented installation of the game).
Despite me being told that my driver and video card actually supports up to Pixel Shader 3.0, I still get the same message denying installation because "Your video card does not support Pixel Shader 1.1 or equivalent". Because my video card is apparently integrated into the system of my laptop, I am led to believe there is nothing I can "fiddle with", change, or download to cause my video card to be compatible. My question is, if I want to install and play this game on my system at my own will, do I have no other choice but to buy another laptop or a desktop computer? Is there seriously nothing less expensive I can buy to handle the specifications of the computer game solely because my video card can never support such a specifcation?
