Power Button on Studio 1558 is screwed up - How do you replace it?

I dont know what happened today, but I am having a problem starting my Studio 1558 up.  I did the take out battery, unplug, hold button 30 secs trick, it did work..........once.  Then i tried to turn it on again, wouldnt turn on, did the 30sec thing, that didnt work.  Eventually I got it to turn on, i did notice when I touch the plastic around the button the LED light goes off.

So is there something messed up in the wiring?  Is there a place with step by step instructions to check those wires?

Hi Maj05,

Welcome to the Community. If your under warranty I suggest you call Dell technical support in your region for a replacement. I would not suggest you to try and reseat those components, as it could void the warranty if you break something, unless you do it with a tech over the phone.

Thank you

Hi Majo5,

As per my original Post I suggested you not to try these steps, and to call Dell technical support for help.

Thank you
