Pre-Boot diagnostics on Hard Disk yielded Error Code: 0F00:1332 and 0F00:1232
I bought my dell studio 1458 last Feb 4, 2010... it has managed to die on me twice... I managed to rescue it by using the back-up discs that I had made. Yesterday, the dell support center pc check-up started like it usually does every month.
My laptop failed two tests the SMART short self test and the Targeted Read Test. SO I ran the pre-boot diagnostics. All was ok as far as memory wise but when I opted for the symptom-tree (I think that's what its called) I decided to test the hard disk which is a seagate ST950025AS... it failed the confidence check and showed the error code 0F00:1332.
I tried the SMART test and then it showed the error code 0F00:1232
Both codes are not listed on the dell support page which lists error codes.
Should I worry? Or is it just a glitch? Please let me know as the chat option for dell is never available.
Please help.

The error means your hard drive has developed unrecoverable bad sectors. You'll need a new 2.5" 9.5 mm or slimmer SATA notebook drive as soon as possible.

I don't believe it's a hard drive error. Same code (0F00:1332) on a Vostro 220s. Dell sent me a new WD hdd. Getting the same error in the diagnostics. Also just weird behavior booting a linux live cd as well as neither the Vista nor the XP recovery discs will boot up into the setup routine - bsod. Must be motherboard I think.
