Hi Reo51ST,

Are you talking about the service tag which is in the BIOS page? If yes, unfortunately it is not possible to remove it from the BIOS. Also let me know for what reason you want to remove it.

Yes the Service tag can not be changed.

You can add one if it has not been set yet.

Asset tag can be changed in the BIOS.

But in system info there is a line for OWNERSHIP TAG and there is no option to remove it.

The Ownership tag is displayed above the Dell splash during boot.

We can not refurbish and resell a laptop that shows an Ownership tag at boot.

Just above the Dell splash.

Perhaps if you took a screen capture.

I have never seen an "Ownership" Tag on the Dell splash screen, and I have owned over a dozen Dell PCs.

We test around 5000 Dell laptops a month.

Save the best and send the rest to China.

Out of the 1000 or so we want to save maybe 40 - 50 have Ownership tags.

In the past we would just put them in the mix and send them to China.

But now we want to save them.

Any experts out there that can help.

There is no X or anything that can possibly be a graphics image.

Perhaps you should use another browser, because I don't see it in Firefox.
