Standby mode activated using the touchpad right button

Question

I have a Latitude D820 that goes into and out of standby when ever the right mouse button of the touchpad is pressed. I'm not seeing any settings anywhere that would allow me to designate the button to be used this way and it's really annoying to keep accidentally putting the laptop in standby every time I need to right click on something. Has anyone heard of this before and how do I change it?

that's a new one on me! have you contacted dell support as I suspect they'll offer to change the palmrest.

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping there was something obvious I was overlooking before I had to contact Dell. I think that will be my next step.

HI, my Latitude D630 just started showing the same behaviour, odd as that is. How did you solve your problem?
