Welcome to the Community. I did some research and found this www.skf.com/.../892730.pdf, check page 5 of 6, it could be that, but not very sure as that article is for Windows 7. Did you try uninstalling the existing driver, and reinstalling it from the below link under Drivers and Downloads section?
Thanks, I tried all the recommended fixes without success. I did remember that the laptop has had xp reloaded, so suspect that the express drive driver may need to be reloaded. I will be trying that soon. Cheers GS

Did you try uninstalling the driver, and download the driver from the manufacturer's website?
