Studio 1555 BIOS&Hibernate problem
Hi guys,
I`m having these 2 problems with my Studio 1555:
1.When I go to BIOS and change some settings (functional keyboard first; password on boot), save my settings and leave the BIOS,after first restart it all works well, but when I turn my laptop off and then turn it on, all settings are set as before.
2.Hibernate & standby problem: every time I try either of these, all I can see is the screen that shows the system is preparing to go to standby / hibernate. Nothing happens, only restart helps.
I`ve got the latest BIOS (A08) and also tried to reinstall Wi-Fi driver as seen on other discussions. No change.
I`m using Win XP SP3, WiFi is Intel 5100.
I would appreciate Your help.
Thanks

You're not along there, I have the same problem.
I have set:
CPU virtualisation -> enabled (compatible CPU - P8600)
Radio switch -> disabled
Function key -> function key first
Not every time, maybe 1 in 15 a random selection of some or all of them will reset. I've had the motherboard swapped for a separate problem but this still happens now and then :/
Do you have a link to the other discussions please? Were they about this or something else to do with your wireless?

Hi All,
I hope this is the right place where to write this question.
I bought a new dell studio 15555 and, sometimes, I've problems with skype and gtalk.
I'm not able to understand the causes of these problems, but all I can see is :
when I plug in my headphones all my messenger (skype, wl and so on) go on state "not responding".
The only action I can do is power off and start my pc, if I try to restart this, the problem remains.
Can you help me ?
Can you please insert in this mailing list
best regards,

Hi all,
so,my problems were solved in this way:
1.hibernate and standby issue: i updated drivers (i don`t know exactly which, i downloaded drivers which were released after 10/2009)
2.BIOS issue: i phoned DELL support and got my motherboard changed
from that time all goes well
to Fabio: maybe try to update audio drivers
