Studio 1555 Date/Time Problems
Hello, I currently have a Dell Studio 1555. The date/time settings keeps going back to January 2009. Very frustrating. I've replaced the coin battery. My stock battery is also dead and I currently have a replacement on order that should be here any day now. I removed the dead battery and have been running off of AC. Whenever I unplug to move to another outlet, the date/time resets after I log on.I also get a promot upon boot saying that the date/time settings are off and I need to press F1. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

If your CMOS battery is OK, and you still get the reset problem, it's likely the clock chip itself that's bad, meaning you'll need to replace the system board.

System board is the mother board? Do you have any recommendations for where to buy?

Remove the base cover (service manual here):
