Welcome to the forums :smileyhappy:

There is no faster laptop on the market, so if your new XPS M1730 can't run the likes of Maya, none will!

As for the Ageia PhysX card: There are a number of games which are optimized to use it, but (to my knowledge) it won't make any difference whatsoever in software?

I'm using mine as a workstation and I', quite pleased.  Running 3DS Max, ZBrush, AfterEffects, Etc...   It is pretty sweet to see both cores slammed 100% in mental ray renderings.

Thank you for good info.

I've just learnd that there are Nima plug in software for Maya to use Ageia engine for physical simulations.

The bad thing is that the support and deveopment is seased, but still the plug in works.
