What about putting the drivers on a USB pendrive?

But then if your USB floppy drive isn't recognised, there's every possibility a pendrive won't be recognised either :(

As for having to install them or not:  You should only need to install RAID drivers from a floppy disk (F6), so it's possible you won't have to install the Intel Matrix Storage drivers prior to - or during installation of the OS?

Assuming the OS recognises both drives, you might get away with just selecting which of the two drives you want to install the OS on, initially?

Once installation is complete, and you get to the desktop, then install the Intel Matrix Storage drivers from there?

If the second drive isn't recognised once you get to the desktop - even after installing the Intel Matrix Storage drivers, it'll probably just need (quick-) reformatting and initialising in Disk Management?

And finally... regarding which version of the drivers:  As you're probably well aware already... Dell are very slow to update drivers on their website!

So I'd suggest using the Intel ones, which are likely to be far more up-to-date (the version number suggests they are) ;)
