Hi dremworld,

Please check under 'Imaging Devices' in 'Device Manager' and see if the Integrated webcam gets detected. To check webcam in 'Device Manager':

  • Click on “Start” and right click “Computer”.
  • Click on “Manage”.
  • Click on “Device Manager”.
  • Under “Imaging Devices”, you will find the 'Webcam' listed.
  • Right click and uninstall.
  • Restart and see if it makes any difference.

If the Webcam is detected in Device Manager, I would suggest you to install Dell Webcam Central software and check if the camera is working. You may download and install Webcam software from the following link http://dell.to/15OOsF6

If the webcam is not detected, uninstall all the 'USB Root Hubs' listed under 'Universal Serial Bus controllers' in Device Manager and restart the computer.

Please reply if you have any questions.

Nasismile,

Code 10 is a driver issue.

Did you recently install/reinstall the operating system? If yes, did you install the Dell System Software(if applicable) and the chipset drivers first? If not, the rest of the drivers will fail to install. How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order

Windows 7/8 is supposed to provide the webcam drivers for most Dell computers. If you system needs webcam drivers, go to Drivers & Downloads enter your service tag, then select your operating system. If your system needs webcam drivers, they'll be listed under Input.

(Windows 8)How to make the webcam work with help from this youtube. You have to open the Camera app first, and then click Settings on the charm bar to see where you can give the app permission to use the webcam.

Try reading...

Troubleshooting the Dell Webcam and Dell Webcam Central Software

You can try this file, also known as Dell Webcam Central.

Create a new unrestricted user account and try the webcam. Did the webcam work?

If yes, log out and log back in to your account and try the webcam. Did the webcam work?

If no, then the webcam became detached from the motherboard, usually near the webcam

Hi Sundeep,

My laptop have the same issue, the webcam is detected and i have installed Webcam Central software but it say the device is busy in some other program whereas, there isn't any program running. Although Skype detects it for a second and then it blinks off.
Also, there is a yellow icon with Teredo Tunneling pseudo-interface.

Please help!

Sandeep,

I have a different, but I think related issue. I am getting an error message in Device Manager. Under "Imaging Devices" the Dell 3333dn/3335dn has an exclamation point inside a triangle beside it. When I open the device, I get the same error message mentioned earlier "This device cannot start. (Code 10)  The specified request is not a valid operation for the target device." However, my webcam seems to be working fine, at least, I can see myself in Skype. However, I used to record video using the KWorld 2800 USB device. About 9 months ago, that device stopped working, which is a disappointment, as it turned my computer into a very handy digital VCR. I am wondering if the Dell device's problem is related to the problem with the Dell 3333dn/3335dn.

Thanks.
