Hi,

I recommend you to follow the below mentioned troubleshooting steps:

1. While playing the videos or games, close all other programs you may have running on your system.
2. Close all other tabs in the browser as they consume system resources. Once done play the games or the videos and check if the videos lag.
3. For online videos, close the browser and restart it. Check if the issue still exists.
4. Close all unnecessary tasks. Your computer is doing many tasks at once each task that is running consumes system power.

If the issue still persists, please update the flash player. Please use the link: http://bit.ly/6FQR0

Please reply for further queries.

Thanks and Regards

hi .......above mentioned solutions didnt work for me..........what about replacing the thermal paste or heat sink???......

Hi,

Please follow the steps below, before replacing the heat sink:

  1. Ensure that you are placing the system on a flat surface and not on the bed.
    2. Check the vents and use compressed air to clean the vents on a regular basis.
    3. You can use a cooling pad to decrease heat and increase performance.

As you have already updated the BIOS, if the issue persists please run the hardware diagnostics. Follow the steps below:

  • Hold down the Fn key while pressing the power button.
  • Turn on the system, press F12 at the initial Dell logo screen, and select Diagnostics from the boot menu.

Once the diagnostics run, check for any error messages if any. Please reply with the error codes.

Thanx abhi, i actually managed to open the panel and clean the heat sink, fan myself ..i also found that the OEM thermal compound on my processor was poorly spilled around the entire chip area..which might be the reason of poor thermal conductivity to the heat sink, its needs to be replaced..now i am concerned about which thermal compound should i apply...my processor is Intel Core i7 740QM which heats like hell under heavy load..can you suggest me any premium thermal paste compound which might be best for my processor and gpu..

Anyway i appreciate for your earlier help :) ..thankss

i think,Arctic Silver 5 is very good thermal paste.also u need to clean off the old thermal compond first if you want to apply artic silver 5 to it and dont use it in excess.

I have the same heating problem. Have you managed to solve it? Was the thermal paste really the problem behind it?!

Thanks,

Hani
