ePSA test not fully covers the memory?
Hello, I have a Inspiron 14R 5420. I ran into some Windows's blue-screen problems and in the way to find a solution, I have encountered some other questions:
The Windows error after reboot showed:
BCCode: 1a
BCP1: 0000000000041790
BCP2: FFFFFA800083FEE0
BCP3: 000000000000FFFF
BCP4: 0000000000000000
OS Version: 6_1_7601
Service Pack: 1_0
Product: 768_1

I've found that the 1a code mean that it is a memory related error, so I've tried to verify it with the Diagnostics section of the boot menu (ePSA test).
For my surprise, all the memory tests have passed OK, even the extended ones.
So I've looked for some other software to test the memory, and I've used memtest86+ (v4.20). The memtest86 utility showed some addresses with problems in a few seconds :
0x2bff8004 - 0x2bffbffc
So I wondered why is the ePSA didn't found these problems? I saw the Results page of the ePSA after run the tests and found that in all the memory tests, the addresses are:
...
186Mb at 0x20200000
320Mb at 0x2bffc000
...
If I do the math, the first entry sowed above is from address 0x20200000 to 0x2bc00000 and the next one starts from 0x2bffc000, leaving out the problematic memory range...
Why is this happening? Is there a way to test all the RAM memory with the ePSA tool?
The additional memory tests that ePSA offers after the default ones is announced to take 30 minutes... but in my system (i7 with 8GB RAM) it has passed in less than 5. Is this normal?
Is there a way to recover the results from the ePSA tests to export them to a text file?
Thanks!

Hi 14R_Inspired,
Glad to know that the memory has been replaced and the issue is resolved.
There seems to be no need for the minidump folder as the issue has been taken care of.
Please feel free to reply for any further assistance.

Hi 14R_Inspired,
The ePSA diagnostics is capable of DIMM Isolation and tests all the memory modules on the system.
You may try to run individual test on the memory by selecting it from ePSA main menu screen. Please ensure to select ‘Thorough’ as test mode for extended tests.
The ePSA also includes MemRx tool with A12 and above BIOS for this system; however it is only available with UEFI version of BIOS.
There is no way to export the ePSA files.
Also, share the contents of minidump folder to identify the cause. To send the mini dump files, you may create a zip file for minidump files and follow the steps below:
Navigate to the location where zip file is saved and upload the file.
Keep me posted. I will be glad to assist you further.

Hi, thanks for your reply.
Today I've received the tech support guy from Dell and he has changed my RAM modules. Now everything seems to work ok. Nevertheless I've re-run the ePSA and now the ranges of memory tested are different:
509 MB at 0x110000
510MB at 0x20200000
1652 MB at 0x40005000
...
Note that the memory modules have been replaced by some of a different maker (the originals were Nanya and the new ones are Samsung) but they have the same size and type (DDR3 1600)
Now I think that my problem is solved, but it is curious the way that ePSA was tested my mem before (and didn't found the faults)...
P.S. If you are still interested in the minidumps, I will be able to post them but I think that it's not worth to analyse it anymore.
