how do i remove dell quickset from taskbar when changing volume

When I hit the volume on my keyboard, the dell quickset pops in the taskbar. How do I remove that?

This never happened when I had Windows XP

Left click once on the QuickSet Icon, you should get a menu. Go Hotkey Popups>Disable On Screen Volume Meter.
At least it used to be this way.  It may have changed.  I do not have QuickSet on my notebook.

I'm sorry.  I missed the little arrow pointing down.  I'm not sure how to get rid of that.  I don't ever remember this coming up before.
