I changed out the charge port today. And ot still isn't working. I've accepted it is likely a motherboard issue. And now have to debate if it is worth buying a replacement, or cheaper to save for a new laptop.
Its a Dell Inspiron 15 7577 if it isn't stated above.
The boards run between $250 and $400 depending on CPU and GPU configuration; only you can determine whether it's cost effective to replace the board. On a 2017 model system that's already beyond its design life, the funds may be better spent on a new system than on repairing this one.
what gave me a solution, my dell alienware r13 leptop can only be played while charging and when yesterday night came "the green led charger adapter turns off and doesn't charge automatically the leptop turns off because the battery is damaged and can only be turned on while charging, when I unplug it the green led charger ac jack is on and when I plug it into the leptop dc jack the green led light of the charger adapter turns off. is my laptop's dc jack broken here??
It could be, or it could be a damaged battery or system board.
If you know the battery is dead, get it out of the system before proceeding. If the system won't power up without the battery, next would be to replace the DC jack.
If the problem persists, the last resort is to replace the system board.

If the system does not recognize the AC adapter (check in Setup, F2 at powerup), the battery will not charge.
If you've already replaced the adapter and battery, and the system has a barrel connector, replace the DC jack in the system.
If that doesn't work, or you have USB-C charging only, the system board will need to be replaced.;
