DS 07/25: Like using "Windows Event Viewer" to troubleshoot system issues, why or why not?

I would not say I like using Event Viewer, but besides the Reliability Monitor the other built-in tools for troubleshooting windows are usually more complicated. Often the error codes are difficult to decifer, they get very specific, sometimes too specific. It would be great if some entries just listed application names instead is APPIDs. I don't see regular people getting a lot of use out of it.
