You don't have to worry about damaging the machine...the CPU is set to auto throttle if it heats up to high.

Still, it sounds like something is wrong.

You should indeed update drivers - and I like going to the support website to do it.  Just go to https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us and put in your service tag.  You can then select stuff manually, or use the auto detect which might work better from the website.

Thanks, here is what I did.

1) The local assistant reported that I had 11 drivers (2 urgent) to update. I downloaded from the web the Intel (urgent) driver and installed it by myself

2) At this point the local assistant reported ONLY two recommended and one optional driver missing!

3) The web tool gave the same results

4) I asked the local assistant to install the 3 drivers, but just starting it said that there was something wrong and to restart the pc

5) I restarted the pc a few times without any change

6) I went on the webtool and asked to install the 3 drivers one at a time. This was ok and now he reports that no more drivers are needed

7) BUT the local assistant still reports the 3 drivers as missing. I restarted the pc many times by now but this does not change.

Isn't the web tool talking with the local assistant? Why the two reports are not matching?

Hi - I have never had the situation where Dell Command Update shows that something needs to be installed but the webtool has already installed it.

You may want to ask Dell about this, but personally, I would uninstall Dell Command Update from my laptop, then reinstall it from the webtool.

Make sure you have the right version installed...there is one for windows build 14393 and later, and one for earlier versions (at least for my Dell 7400!).

Hi,

Dell told me that every 15 days the database is updated and the issue should vanish.

Thanks
