E5420 Not Charging

Question

Hi, My Latitude E5420 is not charging its battery. Its connected with AC power but not charging at all. I have changed the charger and also replaced the battery but nothing happened.

Please help what should I do??

Are the adapter and battery genuine Dell parts? Try a reset by disconnecting the battery and unplug the adapter. Then press and hold down the power button for 30 seconds. Then reconnect everything and try again. If that does not work then either the DC jack on the system is bad (a broken or bent centre pin) or the motherboard is bad (the charging circuit on the MB).

Thanks for your reply. Both adapter and battery are genuine dell. I have also tried to reconnect my laptop by removing battery and then reinstalling battery drivers but my problem is not solved.

@Aquapk​ Then the next step, as my previous post suggested, would be to replace the DC jack. That part can be found at Amazon here, and IT Part Store here.
