Latitude D630 A19 BIOS update fail on my laptop. What's the problem?

D630_A19 BIOS.jpg What to do? I have done what is said there but still encounter the same problem. I just want to update so that I can upgrade mine to Windows 10. Thanks in advance to those who will answer. Hope you can help me. Have a great day!

A13 is my current system BIOS. So I have to update to the nearest version like A17?

What BIOS release version is running on the system?  Sometimes, and intermediate version is required to update to the latest one.

I have already installed the A17 version and it was successful but when I tried to install A19 I encounter the same problem, still unsuccessful.

Who told you that it A19 was necessary for Windows 10 ?

Hi, I have the same problem with A19 BIOS update. I tried to do update from Windows level and also using bootable USB. It was possible to do update BIOS to A17 and A18 but file D630_A19.exe gives error (Failuer to analyze flash image -errorcode 504h). All files mentioned above are from Dell website.

It seems to be something wrong with file D630_a19.exe prepared by Dell. How to alert proper person from Dell about that issue?

Just curious, but have you tried downloading a second copy of the A19 BIOS update...in the event the first one was corrupted during the download?

I see the same problem on my Latitude D630 XFR with the A19 BIOS installer. If I run the A17 installer, it opens fine, but shows I already have BIOS A17 installed. If the A17 installer launches, and the A19 installer fails to open, that sounds like a problem with the installer, not the laptop.

I think we are at Dell's mercy here to provide a fixed installer.

Try installing in Compatibility Mode if you are running Windows 10.

Same with the dos version.  Probably a bad compile or image.  Hash matches download, so it’s up to Dell to fix.  Not sure how to contact the web people.

Same here. No issue with any of the previous BIOS files released, just with A19. Not a download issue as checksums match, seems like a bad build.

I also get the same thing. To be clear, what I have done is:

I put A630_A19.EXE on a FreeDOS bootable USB.

Confirmed that the MD5 of the file on the USB matches what is listed on download page.

Boot FreeDOS and run A630_A19.EXE. I get:

Flash BIOS Update Program - Version A19

Copyright 1990-2013 Dell Inc.  All Rights Reserved.

Failure to analyze flash image(ErrorCode = 504h)!

Note, I am attempting to update from BIOS version A17.

I found the original bios A19 of dell Latitude D630 on another site, and I uploaded it to mediafire.

This one should work. The one on driver page is probably corrupted or a bad file anyway.

I ask Dell and this forum staff to upload this file to the support driver page of Dell latitude d630, so everyone can download it.

It looks like the file you found is missing the Dell digital signature (not surprising), and has a couple different bytes in the main executable:

I'm guessing those are checksums of the BIOS image, and the MediaFire version doesn't have them. And for whatever reason, the flash tool will just work without checksums.

I used WinRAR to extract the BIOS image from the executables, and both versions have the exact same BIOS image. Given that, I felt safe enough about this to try it out on my D630 XFR.

And it worked! I now have BIOS version A19! So maybe Dell can either put this version up, or ideally fix and re-sign their official updater so it works.

What does it prove that the dell digital signature is missing? Those differences in the hex comparision can be simply due to the fact that the file on the driver page is corrupted.

Same problem here.  32gb ram two very expensive ddr2 cards top and bottom I run the mobo out of the case just sitting on my desk and I know bios needs battery info past ten percent to update but I don't think that's true because I've updated this to a18 without a battery straight from a11 on my wall charger. I made a freedos usb using RUFUS to get to a18 and can confirm, the hashes do not match the original download hash for a19. The file has been corrupted or hacked.  Do not download, dell needs to fix this because the d630 is amazing past 10gb I play guild wars for days on it.
