Random errors to Plug in PC battery 0% warning while plugged in

I can't tell if this is a problem with Windows 10 or the battery... I just upgraded to 10 from 7, and the battery was purchased from Amazon (4.8-star rating from 100+ reviews), but I didn't get the error on Windows 7 even though I had the battery for over a year. When I click Close to the warning, the battery icon goes from 0 to 100 almost instantly. For some reason the battery is reading at 0 when it's not.

I've already tried uninstalling the Battery drivers from Device Manager (which automatically reinstalled), and tried updating them, and Windows Update is fully up to date...

How do I find out why this is happening? Is there an error log somewhere that will tell me?

I bought a battery through Dell, cost $133, ridiculous, but it works without the 0% warnings while plugged in.

The other one I bought through Amazon for $40, so maybe I just got some weird knock-off.

I'd like to buy another battery but I really don't want to spend another $100+ dollars, maybe someone can recommend something better.

Welcome to the Dell Community  @deladatu

To better assist you, the members and I would need the exact model number of your laptop/desktop???

Identify your Dell:

@deladatu

Sorry for not getting back after your first reply.

Most would also try The Parts People for Dell OEM parts.
