Replacement SSD for Latitude E7440
Hi,
I'm looking to replace the SSD in my E7440 laptop. Laptop was quite high spec and was shipped with an SSD - I think this was a Samsung PM 851 256 GB mSATA SSD, which was in the hard drive bay and mounted in one of those plastic caddies (interposer).
Basically, I am looking to replace this hard drive. There will be no data recovery, just a fresh install of an OS (probably linux). What drives are compatible?
So far my options seem to be:
(i) Crucial MX500 250GB SATA 2.5-inch 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) Internal SSD (http://uk.crucial.com/ProductDisplay?urlRequestType=Base&catalogId=10153&categoryId=&productId=2427501&urlLangId=-1&langId=-1&top_category=&parent_category_rn=&storeId=10153)
(ii) Samsung 860 EVO mSATA (https://www.mrmemory.co.uk/ssd-upgrades/dell/latitude/e7440#!samsung-860-evo-msata-ssd)
Are both of these options compatible. Any advantages or disadvanges about obtaining either? Here is a picture of the connector and the caddy/interface board. Can I get rid of this board now?
Thanks in advance.

I think I've got this now:
The Crucial plugs into the sata cable and would need some sort of supporting bracket.
The Samsung mSATA plugs into the interposer. I will order the Samsung EVO.

Check out Amazon first, as they currently have a sale on the mSATA 860 EVO 256GB and 500GB drives.

@greatdaneluvr - how did you manage to install 2 HDs in E7440. There is only on2 slot. Where and how did you install the second HD?

@spsach You can install 2 SSD, the first one as main using SATA SSD mSATA Adapter, for 2.5" size. The second one as slave at mSATA WWLAN slot. Both can be same size and capacity for a regular mSATA SSD, maximum capacity can be 1TB for each one, I guess!
