Hello. This is working as designed, so nothing to fix. The Dell Power Manager can take between 6-30 seconds to load up, as it has to check the battery health as well as other Power Management settings on start up.

Sorry to say that, but this is a very unfortunate reply. You explained why it happens, but that does not mean that we should accept this.

If that was the case, then Windows would take 10 minutes to load, because they need to check for updates, or check for viruses and re-index the file system. However, all these operations occur asynchronously therefor the OS starts fast.

We shouldn't need to wait for any battery checks before - just an example - we change the Thermal Setting from Optimized to Quite.

By the way, even when the application starts, it takes 1-2 seconds after clicking 'Thermal Management' on the left before seeing the result of the click.

I wish you would fix this application instead of explaining why it happens.

(Very late response but I just came across this posting after a google search.)

The extremely slow startup of Dell Power Manager is very frustrating. The older "Dell Command | Power Manager" seems to provide all the same features but starts up much faster. It launches in about 4 seconds on my laptop.

It might be worth trying to install that (after uninstalling Dell Power Manager) to see whether it works on your system. Version 2.2.1 was the latest I found.
