WD15 Short
Hi,
Just a simple question to see if anyone has had this issue, and if so, any recommended fixes.
I have a WD15 dock, which has worked well for the passed year during the pandemic. It was second hand, but there was no noticable issues with it, and it's never failed.
A few weeks ago, I noticed it wasn't powered on, so I disconnected it all, left it for ten minutes, then reconnected it. The PSU light is illuminated when connected to the mains, but once I plug it into the dock, the light goes out and no power flows to the dock itself. This has happened with a replacement PSU too.
I'm happy to tinker, if I know what may have broken in the dock, but I don't know where to start, has anyone seen this issue, or know of a fix or test for it, please?
Jukesie.

Welcome to the Dell Community @ThatOneGuy73 and @jukesie
As you indicate when an AC adapter's light goes out it means there is a short circuit.
I can find no schematics.
It would be up to you to open it up.
See if there is anything that is cheap and replaceable.
If not it would be time to purchase new.
Best regards,
U2
