WI-fi connectivity issues when using ac power

Hi

I was sent a Dell Latitude 7410 when starting a new job, working from home. Since the start I have encountered internet connection issues. This started as a slow connection speed which resulted in me in not being able to run Teams and I was also unable to run a speed test due to a socket failure. After trying many fixes I stumbled across the fact that when the laptop was not plugged in the connection was fine. After several more tests in different areas of the house and trying it plugged into the mains or on battery I concluded that the issue seems to be with the electricity supply to the socket in the room I was using. I have switched to a different socket and it is fine. I have, however, had no issues running my home laptop (a cheap Lenovo) off the "problematic" ac supply. Is this some thing I should remain concerned about? Are Dell laptops more sensitive? (I am assuming the wi-fi adapter is somehow being affected).

Is it possible that there is something in the room such as a cordless phone or microwave oven that may be affecting the Dell? Also it is possible that outlet is not supplying full AC power which affects a powerful new system such as Dell but does not affect so much the Lenovo.

Thanks for the response. It is a bedroom and the only other electrical equipment is a monitor and printer. Clearly there is a problem with the power source - I assume that the battery supply doesn't kick in automatically if the power drops. I will keep an eye on it and avoid using the power outlet that causes the problems. Just thought it worth highlighting this if others had wifi connectivity problems that couldn't be resolved. It certainly wasn't something our IT helpdesk considered.
