Updating a Dell XPS 13 developer edition laptop recovery partition

I've recently updated my early 2013 bought Dell XPS 13 developer edition laptop from 12.04 to 14.04.1. All is working well -  however, I notice that the grub boot menu still gives  me the choice of booting from the old 12.04 recovery partition.

Is there a way to update the recovery parition so it is appropriate for 14.04?

Is this what the dell-recovery tool is for, or does it just write a bootable flash-drive ?
