2 hard drives can I boot just one?
Okay I know this is probably in the wrong thread . I have two hd's and want to make both bootable, one has windows XP pro and the other fedora Linux. How should I set the jumpers, And Bois?. Is there a way to prompt on startup?

Yes it is possible.
First- get into BIOS at startup (F2 on mine) and make sure that both hard drives are detected. If not, toggle the second one to "on" or "auto". In some cases the second hard drive will not be detected, but is accessible after Winblows boots. If it is not detected and you cannot toggle it (like mine), STOP THERE! You will have to either partition your primary HD and install Linux in the second partition or get a HD that the BIOS will detect (usually from Dell).
Next- if the second HD is detected in BIOS, then all you have to do is install Linux there. If you have anything on it you want to keep, save it to the primary before installing, or it may be gone forever.
Then- during installation the wizard will ask you if you want to install the GRUB boot utility (you do) and where to install the Master Boot files (on the same HD as Linux). Note- selecting Winblows as the default OS may cause an unstable boot sequence. Select Fedora as default. Continue with FC install. You will have about 2 seconds to select Winblows buring startup.
FC5 ROCKS! Please post back your results. We ALL need help leaving The Dark Side!
