Disabling ACPI in the BIOS

I installed Fedora Core 3 (Linux) on my new Dell Dimension 3000 desktop and I'm trying to get my wireless card (D-link dwl 520(b)) working as well as my soundcard. There are IRQ conflicts and I believe it is being caused by ACPI. It is not an option to disable ACPI in the BIOS of Dell machines. How can I disable this?

ACPI can be disabled by entering " acpi=off " in the lilo configuration file, then reinstalling lilo boot loader.
