Fan Noise and Heating (All ubuntu version)

Hello,

A month ago i bought a new Dell Inspirion 3521-154780.
It's pre-installed Ubuntu 12.04 and i want to use it. Before i buy i saw this device has ubuntu certificate.

My notebook system fan is very noisy and alwasy running maximum performance. This very annoying and 'cuz unpleasant moments in a silence conference room.
Other problems is in the meantime notebook is heating. I'm afraid this is damaging my device or reduce lifetime.
I updated BIOS to newer version but the problem still exist.

I tried other versions of ubuntu from 12.04 to 13.10 and diferrent distro's too (fedora, suse linux).
In ubuntu "Switcheroo" and set VGA profile to low, Jupiter software, lot of tricks over het internet is not remove this phenomenons.
Under Windows 8 everything is ok but i do not want to use windows. This reason i chose dell (because the ubuntu sticker and certificate on ubuntu website) with preinstalled operating system.

What can i do? The ubuntu certificate and ubuntu logo on my laptop is a scam?!
Got souliton or i was misled?
I never think it before but i get starting disappointed from dell.

google for ik8  ... I loaded this and it seemed to fix my fans running all the time.   ( xps 13 )

install i8kutils

find the instructions - they will have you enable it in a few ways.

Use of a more recent kernel might help. Latest 3.13 added significant support for power-saving.

If you can, try running Ubuntu 14.04 (currently in development) and contact the laptop team to know how you can contribute to improving the situation.
