By "Linux 8.0" do you mean Red Hat Linux 8.0? If so, that is a VERY old distribution and may not support the hardware you're trying to use (not to mention it has not been supported in years and you won't be able to get any security patches for it). Try downloading either Ubuntu 7.04 or Kubuntu 7.04 (I prefer the latter because it uses KDE rather than Gnome). It installed flawlessly on my E1505. If you prefer a Red Hat style system, get the latest Fedora Core and give it a try.
Yes, I am referring to the Red Hat Linux 8.0 . I will take your suggestion and try Fedora because Red Hat is what I am accustomed to and I like working from the command line. I will let you know how it goes and thank you very much the suggestion.
