You can install Live Ubuntu onto a USB flash drive with CASPER Persistence partition.
YOU CANNOT LEGACY BOOT this model with an internal drive. You can F12 legacy boot an ubuntu usb Flash drive as long as you are using a USB2 port. Neither Windows 10 nor Ubuntu will install correctly from USB Flash Drive via a USB3 port.
You must use UBUNTU 12.04.5 or higher and Secure Boot ON with UEFI.
Ubuntu will not be able to clean the windows 10 MSR or UEFI partition.
You will have to nuke the drive clean or use another machine with windows 10 and DISKPART to clean the drive.
