Linux Drivers not available
I bought an inspiron15R (5520) with ubuntu pre-installed. Almost 5 mints after I booted the system the touch pad froze. I decided to have a look at the driver and to my great surprise found dell doesn't have drivers for Linux even after offering me the machine with Linux pre-installed. Drivers are available only for Windows 7.
Will it be available or do I have to live with the legacy drivers? I bought this machine because I had Linux pre-installed on it and thought I'll get driver support.

Timely post as I am just coming in to post a query to Dell about this. A lot of people have been having problems with the I15R ALPS touchpad. There are 10+ bugs on it but I've tried to dup most to this one:
bugs.launchpad.net/.../606238
As far as I can tell, even the Dell Vista driver doesn't understand this touchpad, treating it as a standard PS/2 mouse. Maybe the Win 7 driver works better but I'm not going to spend $200 for a Win 7 distro.

You don't have to buy Win7 to download that driver...
Anyway, Win7's driver don't work with Wine on Linux :(
