Mini 12 8.04 update problem
I received the Mini 12 last weekend -- spent most of the weekend finding that if you download updates -- I lose some funtions. I tried 9.04 -- as posted by others - all works well (but slower) -- but display drivers are lacking. Has anybody pushed the update trigger (while in the installed 8.04) and had success? I mean -- stuff like my network manager i.e. WPA did not work anymore. Also, who initiates these updates for Mini 12 owners?

I presently have Hardy Heron 8.10 that I installed from a orignal cd. I would not load 9.04 because the bugs are not worked out yet. Updates and WPA work also.
The disk that I mirrored from the web.I gave up on. My big hang up was installing my wireless netgear adapter. I am new but if i can help.

The Mini 12 with supplied 8.04 works great -- it's when you see that there are updates (you want to stay current) -- that's where I get the trouble.
The Ubuntu tree has many fruits to pick ---- just got to stay with the Dell kind.![]()
