Re-Installing Windows XP after UBUNTU has been installed and XP was removed via fdisk
My dell pc came with XP. I completely replaced XP with Ubuntu OS using [fdisk method]. Now I would like to reinstall xp home edition and the autorun exe fails to read the disc and now I'm stuck with ubuntu only. I am sad. So sad in fact, my computer has become a very expensive paperweight.
please help me.

You cannot run the XP installation from within Ubuntu. You must do a clean reformat and reinstall which means if you are trying to save your data and programs you wont
The procedure would be to put your XP disk in the drive boot the computer, at the Dell splash screen tap the F12 to get to the boot menu. Select the onboard CD rom and press enter, press any key when prompted and the install should begin.
Do a complet reformat then reload the OS.
After the OS is loaded you will need to reload all your driver as per the steps listed HERE.
You can find all your driver by going HERE enter your service tag and get the drivers.
Then reload all your programs
