Ubuntu Recovery ISO
Hi,
Hope someone can help! Got Dell laptop from Dell with Ubuntu pre-loaded. There was a recovery iso file on the machine which I moved to my external hard drive. I now need to move it back to it's original location on the laptop, but I can't remember where it was located! I think maybe it was on the DellUtility partition, but I'm not sure. Can anyone help? Cheers.

If you moved them, they could be wherever you moved them to (or deleted completely?).
You may want to check through the recovery partition. Why not just do a system search on the partition itself?
Otherwise, just use the recovery disk and/or download the .ISO.

On my M1330n it is located in the /home directory. Why is the location important to you? Do you want to mount the ISO on a loopback adapter?
If you just want to burn the image to a DVD, it's location on the internal HD is not that relevant, and you can probably burn it directly from your USB HD.

Thanks Cod. The reason it's important to me is that my laptop came pre-loaded with Ubuntu, and included a restore iso for if it goes belly-up.
If I need to restore the laptop to it's original state I can invoke a restoration command from within the BIOS. I moved the restore iso by accident and therefore the restore command will not work if I need to use it.
I cannot burn it to disc as the iso is 5Gb in size and my laptop (Inspiron 1525) does not come with a duel layer burner.

Ahh, that makes sense, I hope the location then is the same on your laptop as mine. I can't see why Dell would change that location, but you never know.
