For information.

I also received the 18.4 upgrade message. The upgrade was smooth and now I have perfectly running XPS 9360 with 18.04. Just after the first rebooting I received also a firmware/bios update (is it linked ?)

I did a clean install of Ubuntu 18.04.1 and Bios 2.9.0. Everything works well.

Happy as can be!

Has anyone here upgraded their 9360 DE to Ubuntu 18.04 and get a black screen? The laptop still works fine with an external monitor via USB-C but I would still like to use it as a laptop. I have the 3200x1800 screen with an i5 and 8GB RAM if it matters. I've read threads all over talking about black screens and black screens after hibernation/sleep but then later say the video card is dead. But I'm typing this just fine on an external monitor so that can't be it. After reading those threads I turned off hibernation but sleep still works fine. Has anyone else had this issue? I'm hoping to avoid a reinstall. I'm comfortable with the command line. Tried deleting monitors.xml, updating/upgrading Ubuntu, fwupdmgr refresh/fwupdmgr for firmware updates, disabling/enabling internal monitor in GNOME, disable systemd-hybrid-sleep...
When the screen was working this was my favorite laptop I've owned. I don't mean to hijack your thread but this was the only thread I saw mentioning both 9360 and Ubuntu 18.04 specifically so I thought maybe it was a good place to ask.
