If you want the advanced settings for Compiz Fusion, you would want the
compizconfig-settings-manager. To get that, issue this command in the terminal found in Main Menu -> Accessories:
sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager
You can install the package using Synaptic, but I find that the terminal is just great if you know what you want. Now, to get the dock, here is a link to the howto:

Thank you so much this is exactly what i was looking for. I ended up getting Kiba-doc instead just because I liked it better. But thanks for everything Cheers Cameron PS: Gutsey is amazing on the M1710, not a flaw yet, unlike feisty which just never worked right no matter what I did
