blinking caps lock and scroll lock on runtime fail / lock-up scenario ?
This was not recreatable but led to a failure scenario I had never seen before.
On a Inspiron 6400 notebook running Fedora Core 6...
I crashed a program running as root in gdb attempting to fclose() an invalid file name string. When exiting the program, entered 'y' from gdb and system entered the following locked condition:
-- no further input accepted
-- sound card locked on last 'note' played on loop
-- monitor frozen
-- caps + scroll lock keys blinking at same time.
On a 'post' fail the caps and scroll blinking would map back to a modem error or some such thing (or a memory error, depending on which forum post I look at). But are there run-time diagnostic codes and if so, what the heck does the scroll and caps lock blinking map back to?
If anyone has any idea what is going on here, please let me know.
