display standby in KDE with kernel 2.6.1
on i8500:
since i've updated to kernel 2.6.1 the screen melts as soon as the timeout for the KDE standby timer under 'power savings' is passed.
with kernel v2.4.23 the display goes to standby, the backlight turns out without problems...
any suggestions how to fix this

Perhaps you should try 2.6.2?
According to the Change log there were 101 (slight exageration) ACPI fixes from 2.6.1.

have compiled the 2.6.2 a few days ago, but not booted yet...
i read in a mail archive this effect appears then overclocking a lcd horizontal...
got a tool that creates a modeline according to the infos the display releases itself, but couldn't test it, cause i have no floppy in my i8500 and the linux version of this tools doesn't work, so i have to boot a normal dos and try it this way...
