enable 3-D acceleration

hi

I've installed Ubuntu 9.04 with Gnome on the Desktop DELL Optiplex GX270 (NOT Tower) with the graphic card Intel(R) 82865G.

Video Drivers were installed automatically, but the 3-D acceleration doesn't work.
Howto enable 3-D acceleration for this graphic card?

Intel graphics cards usually have less 3D hardware support compared to ATI and NVidia, so don't expect too much. Look at the X server log file, probably "/var/log/Xorg.0.log". See if it has any warnings about 3D support, or other errors.

Here is Intel's page: http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-010512.htm

There is a link to Intel's driver pages, where you can check which Intel driver is needed for your card. If it is a new card, maybe the next X update will fix it for you.
