wpa wireless on ubuntu 6.06 Dapper Drake

Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone has gotten wpa to work with the new release of ubuntu 6.06 ?
I've tried wifi radar  but i'm having trouble.  If i use wifi radar i'm not able to ping the router or any ip addresses. I have wireless connection using  wep and  the bcm43xx-fwcutter and network manager.
I've also downloaded wpa and the wpa_supplicant but have no idea how to configure it if you do at all. I've searched numerous posts on the ubuntu forums but still can't seem to get this to work.
Any help would be appreicated.
Thanks,

It seems that WPA and network manager have issues:

This forum post looks useful:

Instead of using bcm43xx-fwcutter I actually used the ndiswrapper method and it works well for me even with WPA.  I know you would be going back on your existing solution but just in case let me know and I will post the steps I took to do it.

regards
Rafael

Good luck!  I am loving the stability and range of applications on linux.

Hi Rafael,

I was able to get ndiswrapper installed and working via wep. I have wpa_supplicant installed but am not sure how to configure it. I looked at the wpa howto on the ubuntu site but the instructions do not really make sense to me. Could you post what steps you took to get WPA to work? I would much appreciate it.

Thanks,

Gina
